Proudly supporting Pride

At Ministry of Colours, we believe love comes in every colour. Join us as we stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, and celebrate the diversity all around us alongside like minded individuals at our favourite Pride events.

Even though June is Pride month, most of the fantastic parades and events are usually scheduled for August, when we can (hopefully) enjoy the sunshine alongside our brilliant community. As we are based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, we’ve got the pick of the bunch when it comes to choosing where to celebrate! We're lucky to have so many Pride events near us going ahead, and we’d love to share with you which ones we’ll be attending.

Batley Pride - 21st August

Batley Pride is only a small event in its second year but it’s sure to pack a big punch! As a small event, there’s a heavy focus of community spirit with support from local businesses. We’ll be popping along for a browse along the market stalls to pick up some local goodies, before heading to the entertainment venue to see performances from local talent Ethel Vyrus, Archie Bradley and Bailey Bubbles!

Channel Islands Pride - 21st August

Not quite as local as Batley Pride, but we’re going to be celebrating virtually with Liberate Guernsey’s Pride events this year! We’re proud to be the official colour powder supplier for the fantastic ‘Cloud of Colour’ event, kindly sponsored by KPMG. Although we’d love to be there in person, we’re sure our colour powder will look just as great on the big screen!

Manchester Pride - 27-28th August

It’s clear to see why Manchester is called the London of the North when it comes to Pride! This huge event, spanning over 3 days, is jam packed with everything from workshops, to markets, to vigils and of course, many parties! The highlight of the event is by far the live festival, and we’ve got our tickets ready to see headliners Annie Mac, Zara Larsson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor!

Happy Valley Pride, Hebden Bridge - 8-12th September

Said to have a “reputation that exceeds its small town status”, Hebden Bridge is known for its large lesbian community and roots in LGBTQ+ activism. For the last 50 years, non-conforming individuals have settled in this beautiful town to start a family in an LGBTQ+ safe space. Events haven’t been released as of yet but we know it’s going to be a super fun weekend!
